I need to do this for a better future for my family & my darling Adellia. She can eat now, already. Almost 6 month old. How time flies. The only thing I wish right now is to have more time. It seems that 24 hours is not enough. Seriously. A lot of projects to be done. Perhaps this might help me to loose weight *_• wink*wink!

What Parents should know - Pneumococcal Pneumonia
Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi. These pathogens enter the body when they are breathed into the lungs, causing breathing difficulties.
What is Pneumococcal disease?
Pneumococcal (pronounced as new-mo-co-ccal) disease is a group of diseases caused by the bacterium known as Streptococcuc pneumonia, also known as pneumococcus.
Risk Factors & Transmission of Pneumococcal Pneumonia
Children at higher risk for pneumococcal disease include those:
- Younger than 2 years of age
- In group child care
- Who have certain illnesses (sickle cell disease, HIV infection, and chronic heart or lung conditions)
- With cochlear implants or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks (escape of the fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord)
How is Pneumococcal Pneumonia transmitted?
Pneumococcus is spread through contact with people who are ill or who carry the bacteria in their throat. You can get Pneumococcal Pneumonia from respiratory droplets from the nose or mouth of an infected person.
It is common for people, especially children, to carry the bacteria in their throats without being sick.
What are the symptoms?
These are some general symptoms:-
- High fever and chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
- Rapid breathing
- Chest pains
- Nausea or vomiting
- Fatigue
- Muscle aches
There are many types of Pneumococcal disease. Symptoms and complications depend on the part of the body that is infected.
(1) Pneumococcal pneumonia (lung infection) is the most common serious form of pneumococcal disease. Symptoms include:
- Fever and chills
- Cough
- Rapid breathing or difficulty breathing
- Chest pain
(2) Pneumococcal meningitis is an infection of the covering of the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms include:
- Stiff neck
- Fever and headache
- Pain when looking into bright lights
- Confusion
In babies, meningitis may cause poor eating and drinking, low alertness, and vomiting.
(4) Pneumococcal bacteremia and sepsis are blood infections. Symptoms include:
- Fever
- Chills
- Low alertness
(5) Pneumococcus bacteria causes up to half of middle ear infections (otitis media). Symptoms include:
- Ear pain
- A red, swollen ear drum
- Fever and sleepiness, sometimes
How to prevent Pneumococcal disease?
The best way to prevent Pneumococcal disease is by getting vaccinated. The pneumococcal vaccine is a shot that helps protect against some of the more than 90 types of pneumococcal bacteria.

Kebaikan Omega-3
Here's how a daily dose of omega-3 fatty acids can improve and protect vital aspects of your body's daily functioning:

Getting a daily dose of of DHA (600 to 1000 mg) from supplements is preferable to reap the health benefits. You have a choice of taking a fish oil supplement or one derived from algae or krill, a shrimp-like crustacean.
(3) Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) is also found in fish oil, so it's absorbed if you're taking a daily dose of DHA omega-3.
What to look for when buying fish-oil supplements:
Fish oil supplements vary in the amounts and ratios of DHA and EPA they contain. For example, salmon oil naturally contains more DHA than EPA; a supplement derived from algae may only contain DHA. Krill oil contains significant amounts of both EPA and DHA. Read the labels and remember whatever supplement you buy, it must have at least 600 mg of DHA.
Be aware that only about one-third of the oil from fish is rich in EPA and DHA. Many supplements also contain vitamin E or other antioxidants to stabilize the oils and prevent them from becoming rancid. If you choose to buy a fish-oil supplement, check the label carefully to see if it recommends refrigeration to prevent spoiling.
Most brands of fish oil have been proven safe, free of detectable traces of mercury, and do not contain unsafe levels of PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), a toxin and pollutant believed to pose various health threats. To avoid contaminants in an unrefined supplement, it's best to choose a fish-oil supplement made from small, oily fish like anchovy, sardines or menhaden.

Mama Zara
Salam semua... Saya Farhah, sedang mencabar diri saya untuk menjadi mama yang lebih baik untuk anak saya setiap hari. Tak berapa sihat sekarang & batuk-batuk. Risau berjangit dgn Adellia. Susu pun tak keluar banyak macam selalu. Biasa tak ada masalah untuk dapat 150ml sekali pump. Sekarang ni kalau nak dapat 50ml pun syukur alhamdulillah. Semalam hantar Adellia macam biasa ke nursery, tapi dapat phone call pulak dalam pukul 12 sebab baby tak cukup susu. Whoaaaaaaa. 150ml sehari dah tak cukup sekarang. Elok lah kena time tak sihat macam ni. Terpaksa bangun pagi-pagi nak perah susu untuk bekal anak. Risau kalau berterusan memang tak akan cukup punya susu ni.
Solution? This weekend kena buat power pumping & try ESP from Shaklee pulak. Sekarang tengah consume Alfafa, B12, Ostematrix, Vita-Lea & Chewable Vita-C. So far alhamdulillah ok. Cuma maybe tak sihat sekarang, memang kacau EBM. Hohhh. Malam ni nak kena order barang-barang from Shaklee. Alhamdulillah kawan-kawan percaya dengan kebolehan Shaklee. Seronok tengok kawan-kawan dapat benefit dari Shaklee. InsyaAllah saya pun dengan ESP nanti bersama dengan kegigihan power pumping nanti harapnya dapat hasil lebih baik nanti. Untuk anak tersayang.
